It publishes the works that emerged from the very origins of the Cuban nationality, going through the republican period, up to the production of the growing creative movement sponsored by Cuban institutions, and also the one that has developed in other parts of the world without losing its life-giving link with Cuba. It has assumed the task of publicizing the most valuable of Cuban literature and art, both through fiction titles, in all its genres, and essays in its broadest thematic spectrum, as well as through art books; and thus contributes appreciably to establishing which are the greatest exponents of Cuba's cultural heritage.
