Ediciones UO is the entity in charge of the publishing service of the Universidad de Oriente. It is an academic publishing house created in the city of Santiago de Cuba, on April 17, 2001. It publishes academic texts in open access (Open Access), with the purpose of disseminating books and journals with scientific review by academic peers (peer reviewed). It organizes its production in collections of diverse areas of science: Humanities, Law, History, Pedagogy, among others. It is also responsible for editing and publishing the journals of the Universidad de Oriente: Revista Cubana de Química, Tecnología Química, Maestro y Sociedad, Arrancada, Anuario de Economía and Santiago.
