Markus Rediker

Distinguished Professor of Atlantic History at the University of Pittsburgh. He is the author of several award-winning books, including (with Peter Linebaugh), The Hydra of Revolution; Sailors, slaves and peasants in the hidden history of the Atlantic (Barcelona: Planeta/Editorial Crítica, 2005) and The Slave Ship, which won the George Washington Book Prize, the James A. Rawley Prize and the Merle Curti Book Award.
