Pedro Alvarez Tabío

He was a Cuban historian and editor. In 2008, he received the National History Award for having a wide and outstanding career in the field of historical science. In 2007, he received the National Publishing Award. He wrote more than 20 books about the revolutionary process, its protagonists and the struggles that led to the victory of January 1, 1959. It is considered "the memory of the Cuban Revolution." He has edited texts by Fidel Castro, of whom he has been a close collaborator. He passed away on June 13, 2009.
