Araceli García Carranza

Doctor in Philosophy and Letters from the University of Havana. He worked for many years at the José Martí National Library of Cuba, holding different positions from the head of the Cuban Collection Department and simultaneously advising the network of public libraries in Cuba. Among his most notable works are "Analytical indexes of the Annals of Don Ramón de la Sagra"; "Index of 19th century Cuban magazines; Biobibliography of Don Fernando Ortiz." For his outstanding work, he received the 2003 National Prize for Cultural Research and the "Raúl Gómez García", "Alejo Carpentier" and "Nicolás Guillén" Medals.
