Academia de la Historia de Cuba

The Academy of the History of Cuba (AHC) was one of the first in the American continent, only preceded by those of Venezuela, Argentina, Colombia and Peru. It held its inaugural session on October 10, 1910, the day the 42nd anniversary of the start of the Ten Years' War was celebrated, the inaugural moment of the independence struggle of the Cuban people. The creation of the Academy occurred one year after the restoration of the Republic of Cuba after the second North American intervention. Since then it has brought together many leading scholars in the field of historical research.
