Institution attached to the University of Havana whose objective is the study, research, promotion, postgraduate teaching and publication of topics related to Cuban and Latin American history, society and thought from transdisciplinary work structures. The development of programs such as the DIGITAL LIBRARY OF CUBAN CLASSICS, which integrates the investigative process, the documentary rescue work, the elaboration of texts, editorial work and publication, are part of the effort of an intellectual and technical group of recognized quality. Its activity is divided into four areas of work: research groups, postgraduate courses and doctorates, promotion of exchanges and institutional collaboration of an academic nature, and the Editorial Group Imagen Contemporánea.
