Francisco Soberón Valdés

He holds a degree in Social Sciences. He held various positions related to international maritime trade (1961-1978) and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Multinational Shipping Company of the Caribbean, in San José, Costa Rica. He directed companies and financial institutions in Cuba, Great Britain and the Dutch Antilles (1978-1994). He served as Minister-President of the Central Bank of Cuba (1995-2009). He is a collaborator of the Center for Research on the World Economy (CIEM). He has participated in various events on international finance. He participated in the preparatory work for the creation of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA). He has published numerous articles and books.
