Juan Tomas Roig y Mesa

Cuban botanist, scientist and essayist. He distinguished himself for his work in the natural sciences, both in research and teaching, which allowed him to stand out as one of the most eminent botanists in Cuba, recognized by Cuban and foreign institutions. His greatest contribution to science is his studies on medicinal plants.
