Frank País

Young Cuban revolutionary from the Santiago de Cuba province. He got involved in politics from an early age. After the release of Fidel Castro in 1955 (imprisoned in the aftermath of the events of July 26, 1953), País continued to fight against the Fulgencio Batista regime in Cuba and organized a resistance network in the city of Santiago de Cuba. He was assassinated by Batista's forces in 1957 at the age of 22. País is considered one of the heroes of the Cuban Revolution and his legacy has been honored in Cuba with monuments and street names.
