Alejandro Hartmann
Alejandro Sebastián Hartman Matos is a Cuban researcher. He graduated in Spanish and Literature from the Enrique José Varona Higher Pedagogical Institute, in Havana. He has a master's degree in Cultural Promotion from the University of Havana in 1992. In 1986 he completed a Training Course for Museum Directors in the USSR. He has published brochures, as well as articles on historical, archaeological, and cultural topics in national and foreign media such as Venceremos, Bohemia, Juventud Rebelde, Granma, Excelencia, and Viajeros del Caribe, the latter two from Spain; Pat, from Belgium and Travel Caribbean, from Italy. Recipient of several national and international prizes and decorations, among which the Tomás Savignón prizes in 1992 and 1993, Regino E. Boti in poetry 1993, 1995 and 2000 and mention in essay in 2000, Manuel Navarro Luna 1993, José María Heredia (prize 1995 and mention in 2006), first second prize in the 6th La Puerta de los Poetas International Contest (France, 1998), and the medals "Alejo Carpentier", "Raúl Gómez García", "Rolando Quintero Mena", "Emilio Bacardí" , "Canoe expedition from the Amazon to the Caribbean" and "Expedition along the Hatuey route" He is currently working as Historian of the City of Baracoa, president of the Guantánamo writers' branch and director of the Matachín Museum.
