Hugo Rueda Jomarrón

He was born on April 9, 1937 into a very humble family, in Santa María, Puerto Padre, in the eastern province of Las Tunas. Very young, he joined the ranks of the Rebel Army. He stood out as a soldier at the head of internationalist missions in Angola and Nicaragua. He received 28 medals and high distinctions awarded by the Council of State, the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and friendly armies. Already retired, he continued his support work for the Civil Defense in the Meteor Exercises for several years. From 1960 to 1977 he participated in the defense and security of the territory of Santiago de Cuba.
