Alejandro Herrera Moreno

Doctor of Science, with more than 47 years of experience in research and teaching in marine sciences; and numerous published scientific books and articles. Since 2000 he is president and researcher of the EcoMar Program, Inc. on issues of education and environmental management, fisheries, ecology and marine biodiversity, climate change and territorial management. He has transferred this experience to journalism in scientific dissemination works; and children's literature with his books "Fables of the Sea" (Gijón, 1994), "A festa do mar" (Sao Paulo, 1996) and "The sea for children" (Santo Domingo, 2000). At the same time, he has developed a career as a lecturer and researcher in literary and historical studies of the life and work of the hero of our America José Martí, with 37 years of experience, several books and articles; and a specialty in the Martí magazine "La Edad de Oro". Since 2005 he is Vice President and researcher of the Enrique Loynaz Cultural Foundation, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where he works as director and researcher of its Department of Martian Studies.
