Jorge Oliver Medina

Journalist, writer, cartoonist, graphic designer, director of animated films and illustrator of children's literature. He has published more than 15 books dedicated to his character Captain Plín, his friends the islanders and his enemies the pirates of Rui La Pestex. He is a member of the presidency of the Cuban association of social communicators and directs the humor and comics department of the José Martí International Institute of Journalism. He holds the National Prize for Children's Literature "The White Rose", from 2006 and 2007, among other awards.
