Luis Castillo

Since the forties of the 20th century, Luis Castillo, in Guantánamo, worked in animation despite the fact that all previous attempts to make a Cuban anime had failed in Havana and Santiago de Cuba. Luis Castillo was persevering and before 1959 he had even done commercial advertising in animated. As Jesús de Armas, Eduardo Muñoz Bachs and Hernán Henríquez would also do. Since 1968, Luis worked as a worker in the Department of Animated Cartoons of the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television (ICRT) and was the director of the cartoons "Guaso y Carburo", "Paco Perico", "Chico Taino" and "los Quemarrisas", among others. He died in 2015
