Gabriela Mistral

Gabriela Mistral is the literary pseudonym of Lucila Godoy, a prominent Chilean poet who received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1945. She worked as a poet and school teacher. Among her notable works are: Sonnets of Death, Desolation, Tala, and Readings for Women. She is a great friend of CUBa and a tireless student of the work of José Martí.
