José Espinosa Sáez

Doctor in Biological Sciences. Senior Researcher. Specialist in Mollusks and Marine Ecosystems. Author of hundreds of scientific articles in national and foreign magazines and in several books. He has directed or participated in several research projects in Cuba, the Canary Islands, Costa Rica and Mexico. He has described a family, a subfamily, 10 genera and 215 new species for the science of mollusks, mostly marine and Cuban. He is the editor of the scientific journals Avicennia (since 1993, Univ. de Oviedo-CITMA of Cuba) and the Oceanological Series, of the Institute of Oceanology. He has received numerous national and international awards.
